Description

The Iowa Gold Star Military Museum is Des Moines' premier military museum honoring Iowans and their military service to the state, country and the world. It offers a glimpse into the military services of Iowans by recreating their experiences. For example, the museum exhibits a recreation of a WWI trench to show the conditions of warfare during that era, and an F-16 flight simulator where visitors can fly out of the Des Moines Airport.

Description

The Science Center of Iowa engages and inspires visitors by bringing learning to life. Centrally located in Downtown Des Moines, SCI's hands-on interactive exhibits, special-format theaters and unique programming attract Iowans and distant visitors. Through daily visitors, a statewide educational outreach program and the NAEYC-accredited SCI Preschool, the Science Center of Iowa serves more than 200,000 people annually.
